ICSID - The globalisation of industrial design
The organisation of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) was founded in 1957 with the aim of promoting the social importance of design and supporting professional developments in this field.
The ICSID organisation currently numbers over 150,000 professional members in its ranks, and is represented in more than 50 countries. The various member institutions of the ICSID are networked worldwide and cooperate closely in the organisation of seminars, conferences and exhibitions on topical questions of industrial design.
Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, head of the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen for many years now, has been chosen in Berlin on 12/13 September as president elect of ICSID. He will take on the world’s most important office in the design scene as of 2005.
