red dot design index
The “red dot design index” is a stock basket of listed companies whose design teams have received the honorary title “red dot: design team of the year”. The companies included are Adidas, Apple, Audi, BMW, Daimler, LG Electronics, Nokia, Philips, Siemens, Sony and Tupperware.
When looking at the development of the share prices of the design teams of the year over a longer timeframe, the idea arose of comparing the red dot design index to the development of the Dow Jones and Euro Stoxx 50 (see the chart). It is noticeable that the red dot design index developed clearly better than the comparative indicies.
On 1 November 2007 the “red dot design index” reached its all-time high at 305 percentage points, thus not only outperforming the EURO-STOXX-50, but also the DOW JONES and the DAX. At the end of February 2010 our index was 123 points above the EURO-STOXX-50.
