Designing Success! – red dot in China
Internationally leading design manufacturers present themselves in the growth market of the future
For a long time, China was regarded merely as a manufacturing location; in recent years, however, the region has experienced a real boom as a blossoming economic market with excellent growth rates and promising forecasts for the future. It also offers excellent conditions and enormous potential for the creative industries thanks to targeted state funding and private involvement.
In the face of China’s constantly increasing significance as a location for creative industries, red dot will successfully continue its international involvement at the “Third China International Industrial Design Expo” in Shunde from 16 to19 September 2010. At the exhibition “Designing Success! – red dot in China”, selected winners of the “red dot award: product design 2010” will present their award-winning products to an international expert audience on an area of 500 square metres and thus point the way for excellent design in what currently is one of the most important markets of the future.
The exclusive selection contains products from the East and the West and comprises of the best from the different design worlds – alongside companies such as Dyson, Apple, Dell, Philips, and Samsonite also Chinese global players such as Lenovo or Haier will present their award-winning products. The award-winning exhibits by VW and Mercedes-Benz are also eagerly awaited, because due to their high innovative strength German automobile brands are very popular in China in particular. Here they have been able to record important growth, which was missing in West European markets due to the effects of the global financial crisis.
“China has become the second largest national economy in the world – those with entrepreneurial foresight will thus not be able to ignore the Chinese market,” states design and business expert Prof. Dr. Peter Zec. “I am convinced that with the exhibition in Shunde we have created optimal conditions to give our winners an attention-grabbing presence in this exciting economic zone and, together with them, demonstrate the essential significance of excellent design as a strong value driver.”
Third China International Industrial Design Expo
From 16 to 19 September 2010 the trade fair, which takes place at the Shunde Exhibition Centre in Guangdong Province, will offer international exhibitors an exciting presentation platform in three halls in total, which is to strengthen the connections between the manufacturing industry and designers. At the same time, it aims to highlight the important role of design as a distinguishing feature in the global market and thus its relevance for positive economic growth. The exhibition “Designing Success! – red dot in China” will take place in the Industrial Design Hall, which is the largest exhibition hall with an area of 12,000 square metres.
The Pearl River Delta
