Oliver Kartak, born in Vienna in 1968, has been working in the fields of brand identity, communication design, photography, and film direction for 20 years. In the early 1990s, he established DMC Wien together with Hubert Schillhuber and Neville Brody, and as creative director he was in charge of the channel identities of the television stations VIVA, VIVA2, TM3 and HOT. In 1998 he opened his own office in Vienna, directing, among others, advertising spots, TV magazines, and motion pictures. He also published photo-graphic works in Purple Magazine (Paris), Baby Magazine (Amsterdam), and Dazed and Confused. Since 2007, Kartak is professor for graphic design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. In 2008, he designed the corporate identity for Red Bull Mobile Television and in 2009 the new design of TV1000 Viasat in cooperation with DMC München, follow-ed by the redesign for the ORF 1 at the beginning of 2011. He has received numerous international awards for his works.
