Red Dot Design Museum presents studio exhibition on the occasion of 90 years of Philips Design
From 24 September 2015, “Products for Generations: 90 Years of Philips Design” presents around 50 exhibits, which illustrate the current design understanding of the Dutch manufacturer.

Major honour for best concept designers in Singapore
On 25 September, the best design concepts and prototypes were honoured in Singapore. On a specially created runway in the Red Dot Design Museum Singapore, the winners received their deserved awards by Professor Dr Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot, and Ken Koo, President of Red Dot Asia.

Innovations wanted: On 26 October, the registration period of the Red Dot Award: Product Design will begin. With the help of the jury of experts, the international competition appraises the best products of the year.

Red Dot at IFA 2015
On 9 September, the “Internationale Funkausstellung” (IFA) in Berlin has ended. With 1,645 German and international exhibitors and 245,000 visitors the leading fair for consumer and home electronics recorded the most successful year in its history. Red Dot was present.

The team of Instant Architects from Switzerland developed “UNITED_BOTTLE”, a novel concept that implements used water bottles as a building material in crisis regions such as refugee camps. With this outstanding design concept Instant Architects have been particularly successful in the red dot award: design concept 2007. They received the red dot: best of the best award as well as the LANXESS prize. Worth 7,500 US$ and sponsored by the chemical corporation LANXESS, it was awarded for the first time and is to support the implementation of the design concept. Now, Instant Architects wants you to find uses for UNITED_BOTTLE.

Legacy for the Future Design Awards for Dedon and Otto Bock On the occasion of the “Design Korea 2007” event, selected award-winning works of this year’s red dot award: product design were presented in the exhibition “World Best Design”, among them the prosthetic foot "1C30 Trias" by Otto Bock HealthCare and the chaise longue "Yin Yang" by Dedon. After the successful presentation in Korea, these two products were awarded in the “Legacy for the Future Design Award”.

For ADDI, a new Swedish design agency, the New Year has begun as successfully as the last one ended. Just back in November 2007, the designers and ADDI founders, Johan Malmquist, Andreas Karlsson and Eric Therner, celebrated their achievement at the red dot award: design concept in Singapore and barely two months later they had already sold their excellent design concept "Stick To Me" to Mitab, the Swedish furniture manufacturer.

Designers and companies from all over the world are once again invited to register their products for the red dot design award, one of the leading and largest international design competitions. The coveted trophy is the red dot, the seal for design quality. In response to the industry’s constant development there are sixteen instead of previously thirteen product categories this year. New categories, which have been added or result from the division of existing categories, are “Kitchen”, “Garden”, “Automobiles, Transport & Caravans” as well as “Communication”. The registration period for latecomers ends on 1 February 2008.
