Red Dot in China 2016
From 29 October until 1 November 2016, Red Dot brings the world of design to the International Conference and Exhibition Center of the South-East-Chinese metropolis Xiamen: For the fifth time in a row, Red Dot is the major partner and trade fair organiser of the Xiamen International Design Week (XIDW). In an interview, Red Dot CEO Professor Dr. Peter Zec gives insights into the successful fair and his talks about his personal highlight.

From 24 October 2016 onwards, designers and manufacturers can enter their products for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017 – one of the largest product competitions in the world. For more than 60 years, it has offered a fair and independent design benchmark.

The Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2016 has been chosen: Serviceplan has won the day in the Red Dot Award: Communication Design. With its innovative campaigns, this partner-led agency proved to be the strongest service provider as demonstrated by its 11 Red Dot and five Red Dot: Best of the Best awards in this year’s competition.

“La valeur du design”: Red Dot exhibition opened in France
On Wednesday, 14 September 2016, “La valeur du design” (“The value of design”) opened in St. Etienne, France. Until 8 January 2017, Red Dot awarded products from France and around the world inform visitors of the Cité du Design about the merits and value of good design.

The exhibition showcases product solutions with refined technology, improved combination of materials and increased emphasis on users’ comfort and convenience. The finalists and winners of the Dutch Design Awards 2009 will be on show in the red dot design museum in Essen. From April 8 through to May 2 the museum will host the ‘best of the best’ of Dutch Design, as part of an international tour of the exhibit, showing design by renowned designers as Studio Wieke Somers, Maarten Baas, Thonik, Philips Design, Gert Dumbar, Jelte van Abbema (young talent 2009), and many others.

Many contractors used and still use the economic crisis as a killer argument to continually push prices further down, and pitches for little or no money are no rarity.

Communication designers from around the world are creative like never before – and those interested in design can see this for themselves in Switzerland this spring. With the exhibition “Quality has a form. red dot presents: Excellent communication design in Basel” red dot presents in the exhibition area of the Basel School of Design from 13 April to 9 May 2010, the best communication design works that have won awards in the “red dot award: communication design 2009”. The festive vernissage will take place on 12 April 2010.
