On 4 July 2016, following the Red Dot Gala, the international design scene gets together in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, for the Designers' Night. On that evening, around 1,800 guests from around the world celebrate the winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016. The after show party is also the opening of the winners’ exhibition “Design on Stage”.

This year again, the Red Dot Award: Product Design proves that good product design is not a matter of dimensions. From fashion and accessories as well as consumer electronics to vehicles, household aids and furniture - the best innovations are awarded with the “Red Dot” in 31 product categories.

The harmonious combination of fascinating industrial architecture and award-winning contemporary product design: from 2-9 February 2009 the red dot design museum once again served as the stage for an extraordinary event of a renowned company. The Korean car manufacturer Kia staged the presentation of its latest model, the “Kia Soul”, in the inspiring setting of the boiler house of the “Zeche Zollverein” colliery.
