Red Dot Award: Communication Design – “Early Bird” registration ends on 2 April

The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017 is well underway. They can submit their works and projects to the international competition within the “Early Bird” registration phase until 2 April and benefit from the reduced registration fee of the first submission period.

Award-winning design and its makers: “Iceberg Songs”

The top individual award is the Red Dot: Grand Prix. In 2016, the award was granted to the website “Iceberg Songs” designed by Serviceplan and Pan.Net for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and gives a silent phenomenon a sound identity.

The Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2017 offers designers, companies and universities from all over the world the opportunity to enter their product visions and put their whole creative potential to the test. The “Latecomer” submission phase ends on 24 May 2017.

The "Red Dot: Best of the Best" is the highest award of the Red Dot Award. In 2016, "kayak" by designer Patrick Norguet got the Award. The design of the chair focused on exploring the possibilities of wood.

Within its 27th General Assembly, the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) announced its new President for the 2011-2013 term. The two-day proceedings were held in Taipei, Taiwan where the International Design Alliance (IDA) Congress took place for the first time.

Designers and companies all over the world are again called on to submit their new designs and thus have their work assessed in a global comparison.

From 24 to 26 October, the IDA (International Design Alliance) Congress 2011 offers under the motto “Design at the Edges“ an overview of the interfaces between design and other fields such as science, technology, business or humanitarian organisations. Furthermore, the interrelation of design disciplines – communication, interior, and industrial design in particular – will be the subject of the congress.

Since 2006, contemporary art ruhr (C.A.R.) presents itself with two events a year. This autumn, the art fair is guest at the red dot design museum and will decorate the “Schürerhalle”, which is the main hall of the former boiler house of Zeche Zollverein, with contemporary art.
