Red Dot in China 2016
From 29 October until 1 November 2016, Red Dot brings the world of design to the International Conference and Exhibition Center of the South-East-Chinese metropolis Xiamen: For the fifth time in a row, Red Dot is the major partner and trade fair organiser of the Xiamen International Design Week (XIDW). In an interview, Red Dot CEO Professor Dr. Peter Zec gives insights into the successful fair and his talks about his personal highlight.

Application phase 2017 begins
From 24 October 2016 onwards, designers and manufacturers can enter their products for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017 – one of the largest product competitions in the world. For more than 60 years, it has offered a fair and independent design benchmark.
Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2016
The Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2016 has been chosen: Serviceplan has won the day in the Red Dot Award: Communication Design. With its innovative campaigns, this partner-led agency proved to be the strongest service provider as demonstrated by its 11 Red Dot and five Red Dot: Best of the Best awards in this year’s competition.

“La valeur du design”: Red Dot exhibition opened in France
On Wednesday, 14 September 2016, “La valeur du design” (“The value of design”) opened in St. Etienne, France. Until 8 January 2017, Red Dot awarded products from France and around the world inform visitors of the Cité du Design about the merits and value of good design.

The Red Dot Design Museum Singapore features a new collection of the latest innovations from this year’s Red Dot Award: Product Design. The exhibition showcases product solutions with refined technology, improved combination of materials and increased emphasis on users’ comfort and convenience. The exclusive presentation runs until 30 November 2016.

The red dot award: design concept 2011 is underway. On 13 May, the regular submission period will close. In mid-May, a jury of 17 experts will have the important task of shortlisting the most creative and innovative, yet manufacturable, ideas and prototypes. Using the example of Prof. Axel Thallemer, get an insight into the jury’s background, what makes them tick, and why they do what they do.

The Czech Republic is currently showcased in the capital city of Seoul in South Korea with a retrospective of products that won the red dot design award between 1995 and 2011. The country in eastern Europe is thus presenting itself to the economic giant in Asia as a fascinating partner in design and innovation with the aim of forging close links between Korean companies and Czech design agencies.

After last year’s splendid premiere the showcase of the “red dot award: communication design” is now again making a stopover in Basel. Until 27 April 2011 red dot will be showing the exhibition “Design Value – Design Values. red dot presents awarded communication design 2010/2011” in The Basel School of Design on the Lyss.
