From 22 January until 3 April 2016, the special exhibition “Tõnis Käo: ‘Design as Experiment’, Retrospective” presents an overview of the life’s work of the pioneer in system design Tõnis Käo in the Red Dot Design Museum.

81 products received the highest single distinction "Red Dot: Best of the Best" in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015. Only four cars were honoured with the sought-after award.

Participation period is fixed
The participation period for the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 is fixed. On 29 February the creative competition will start into a new year. Once again, communication designers, marketing experts and young talents are invited to enter their best projects and campaigns.

Since roughly 20 years, more and more objects from Spain are entering the global competition “Red Dot Design Award”. Many of them are continuously getting awarded by the international Red Dot Jury. Only until 28 February 2016, a prize-winning selection is on show in the special exhibition “¡Viva el Diseño! Red Dot winners from Spain” in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen/Germany.

With around 5,000 entries from more than 50 countries each year, the Red Dot Award is one of the world’s largest international product competitions. The registration phase for 2016 is in full swing, and the jury members have already been chosen. The about 40 experts from all over the globe will converge in the Ruhr region at the end of February to make up the Red Dot jury. These include ICE and Transrapid designer Alexander Neumeister, fashion icon Jimmy Choo and automotive design legend Chris Bangle.
