Prof. Martin Darbyshire

Professor Martin Darbyshire is founder of the design office “tangerine” in London and Seoul and has over 20 years of experience in the design sector. Before founding “tangerine” in 1989, he joined Moggridge Associates and worked in San Francisco at ID TWO (now IDEO). Most notably, Darbyshire led the multi-disciplinary team that created both generations of the “Club World” business class aircraft seating for British Airways – the world’s first fully flat bed in the business class which, since its launch in 2000, has remained the profit engine of the airline. Martin Darbyshire also works as visiting professor at the University of the Arts, Central Saint Martins, and was board member of the Icsid from 2007 to 2009.
