Jurors red dot award: communication design 2011

Prof. Winfred Kaminski
Prof. Dr. phil. habil. Winfred Kaminski is professor for Cultural pedagogy at Cologne University of Applied Sciences as well as adjunct professor for Education at Goethe University Frankfurt. He studied philosophy, social sciences and German language and literature studies in Duesseldorf and Frankfurt and published a PhD thesis on a literature-philosophical topic. He frequently acted as a juror for various children's and youth literature awards and finished his professorial dissertation on the mutual distance between children's literature and pedagogy in 1991. In 2004 he was appointed as professor for Cultural pedagogy at Cologne University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore he is managing director of the Institute of Media Research and Media Pedagogy of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences. Being an expert for the historical and socio-cultural meaning of computer and video games, he dedicates himself to the discussion about this topic and initiated the biannual international conference "Clash of Realities", which deals with computer games in a scientific way, in 2006. In 2011 Prof. Dr. phil. habil. Winfred Kaminski joins the jury of the "red dot award: communication design" for the first time.
