Eva Denmark - Danish design at the red dot design museum
Founded in 1913, the brand Eva had its major breakthrough in 1952 with a bread and meat slicing machine which became a real design classic. Ever since, many other products by the Danish manufacturer followed: Whether furnishing accessories, kitchenware or helpful tools for the household, the products always combine aesthetics, functionality and high quality.
Thereby, good design is everything. It is not so much about a pretty appearance but, above all, about bringing in line the functionality and choice of materials with the aesthetics of the object. Throughout this, outstandingly designed products can be formed, which are a pleasure to look at, use and own. “Good design is simply at the heart of everything we do” is the manufacturers maxim.
Besides Ole Palsby, who is, among others, responsible for the iconic Eva trio pots and pans, the company also works together with the industrial designers Simon Skafdrup and Henning Therkelsen of 3PART. Paul Solbjerg and Peter Egelund also contribute to the unique products of the Eva series which make our daily lives easier and more beautiful.
Since 1997, the Eva Solo series has been shaped by Claus Jensen und Henrik Holbæk, the founders of Tools Design. Always looking for a simple and innovative approach to the product, the designers carry the manufacturer’s exclusive design into everyday objects for the home. They convince with their simplicity, distinct lines as well as their high degree of functionality.
There is something for every sphere of life: cooking, serving, living, bath and outdoor. In the entire household, one can be surrounded by elegant design works of which many have been honoured within the “red dot award: product design” for their outstanding design. At the moment, the red dot design museum presents a selection of the Danish quality products which were awarded the red dot seal since 2004.
