Charity auction for the benefit of Amnesty International at the red dot design museum - design pieces under the hammer
Starting 2 p.m. on Sunday, 11 December 2011, the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen auctions off 150 international design objects and well-shaped items of everyday life which were submitted to the “red dot award: product design”, one of the most renowned competitions worldwide. The complete auction proceeds are granted Amnesty International. The non-profit organisation internationally takes a stand for human rights as well as for personal freedom as basis for human creativity.
Fascinating exhibits from various product fields will be under the hammer: The participants of the auction can look forward to bidding for a red dot awarded vacuum cleaner by premium manufacturer Dyson, to taking home the chair “Forest” which was designed in Italy or to acquiring a sporty tennis racket from the house of “HEAD”. About 20% of the items start at an opening bid of 1,- Euro.
As the places for the auction are limited, interested parties are asked to register at www.red-dot.de/charity or at the front desk of the museum by by 11.12.2011, 12 a.m.. Starting 3 December 2011, those who want to inform themselves of the products prior to the auction can inspect them at the red dot design museum. It is also possible to indicate one’s special interest for certain design pieces.
The collection of the bidder numbers will be possible on Sunday, 11 December 2011 from 12.30 p.m. until 1.45 p.m..
