Gyrocopter "Cavalon" takes off in the red dot design museum

In a spectacular way, the preparations for the special exhibition “Design on stage – winners red dot award: product design 2012/2013” started: The ultralight gyrocopter “Cavalon” by the German company AutoGyro GmbH from Hildesheim, which won over the jury of the “red dot award: product design 2012” with its outstanding design, has been lifted high into the air by industrial climbers.

In the “Cavalon”, pilot and passenger can sit next to each other and enjoy the fascination of flying. The monocoque construction made of composite materials provides the ideal balance of performance and weight and thus high safety and efficiency. With its decision, the expert jury of the competition honoured the aircraft’s harmony between interior and exterior.

During the four-week presentation of this year’s winners of the “red dot award: product design”, which will be shown at the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany, from 3 – 29 July 2012, visitors can experience the design of the “Cavalon” closely. Beyond the duration of the special exhibition, the gyrocopter hovers in the former boiler house of Zeche Zollverein for an entire year.
