2012 Taipei Design Award - Apply now!
Only until 3 July 2012 do designers worldwide have the chance to participate in the 2012 Taipei Design Award. The organisers are looking for innovative works in the categories “industrial design”, “visual communication design” and “public space design”.
Design sometimes sprouts from somewhere small and expands outward slowly. It reaches more and more people, influences them and culminates in a melting pot of traditions old and new. This is the concept of the 2012 Taipei Design Award, which is organised by the Taiwan Design Centre and the Department of Economic Development of the Taipei City Government this year.
Under the motto “You & I”, designers from all around the world are called upon to submit their works in the categories “industrial design”, “visual communication design” and “public space design”. “The award serves the purpose to inspire and challenge talented designers from disparate disciplines to create innovative ideas for our modern society”, says Tony K.M. Chang, CEO of the Taiwan Design Centre and long-standing jury member of the “red dot design award”.
Entries can be submitted individually or as a group with up to five members. They have to be produced exclusively for this award, centring on the event’s main theme. There is no limit to the number of entries. Winners of the 2012 Taipei Design Award will receive prizes amounting NTD 500,000 (approx. US$ 15,000). Entry deadline is 3 July 2012.
