Two in a row: Success in different competitions for eyewear collection
To compete with innovative companies in a competition is a big challenge. Being awarded the sought-after red dot for one’s own creative work by an independent jury is a great honour. To repeat such an achievement in different competitions, though, is a brilliant feat which seldom happens. With the eyewear collection “Grafik Plastic” and its stringent design strategy, Grafik Factory from South Korea succeeded in the “red dot award: product design 2012” as well as in the “red dot award: communication design 2012” and enthused the respective jury of experts.
On 2 July 2012, the South Koreans received their certificate for the design of the eyewear collection “Grafik Plastic” in the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany. The jury awarded the red dot for the outstanding adaptability of the glasses: the temples have been designed to be detachable and can be changed according to the wearer’s individual style or mood. Shortly after this achievement, Grafik Factory proved within the “red dot award: communication design” that the success of an outstanding product can be supported by appropriate ways of communication. Exceptionally boxed, the glasses are presented in use – resting on the portrait of a person, who directly looks into the viewer’s eyes through the glasses.
During the red dot gala on 24 October 2012 in the Konzerthaus Berlin, Grafik Factory will accept the distinction “red dot: best of the best” in the category “Packaging Design”.
