Best agency of the year in the red dot design museum: 601bisang presents "Digilog 601: Harmony thru Design"
Ground-breaking, courageous, emotional: Packagings, posters or films which are awarded within the “red dot award: communication design 2012“ by an international jury, represent all this. Now, the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany, showcases a selection of the rewarded works as well as the exhibition of 2012’s most successful agency of the year, 601bisang from Seoul.
From 16 November 2012 until 6 January 2013, the former boiler house of world heritage Zollverein will turn into a place for current communication design at the highest level. The visitors of the exhibitions may look forward to the latest, innovative works in the field of communication design.
601bisang from the South Korean capital Seoul will occupy a special place: For years, the design studio has built up a reputation with their young, broad-minded designs. In 2012, they were bestowed the title of honour “red dot: agency of the year”. This distinction, which no agency can apply for, honours the continuously high design achievements of the creative minds from Asia. In their exhibition, they give insights into their know-how and present what is state-of-the-art in the creative scene. Along with many other guests of honour at the red dot gala, Federal Minister of Economics and Technology and Vice Chancellor of Germany, Dr. Philipp Rösler, was impressed by the achievements of the agency of the year 2012.
The works of 601bisang reflect a deep philosophical approach. Existential topics such as “nature” and “harmony” as well as their own cultural heritage are brought into accordance with the latest graphic design. “We not only design for clients – we become clients for ourselves to design what we want” – this quote describes the self-conception of the young and dynamic design studio. The title of the exhibition “Digilog 601: Harmony thru Design“ stands for the fusion of “digital” and “analog” – opposing phenomena that merge in a symbiosis. A special eye catcher of the exhibition is the exceptional typography that consists of male and female frogs: it symbolises the constructive process of creation.
On 15 November 2012, from 7 p.m., the vernissage of the exhibition takes place in the red dot design museum. For a better planning, interested people are asked to register at www.myreddot.de/vernissage as a guest of the vernissage.
