Creative and unique: the red dot design museum presents "Digilog 601: Harmony thru Design" by 601bisang from Seoul

After the successful presentation of this year’s prize-winning works in Berlin, Germany, the red dot design museum in Essen, Germany, now showcases the exhibition of the most successful agency of the year, 601bisang from Seoul, as well as a selection of works which were rewarded in 2012. From 16 November till 6 January 2013, the former boiler house of world heritage Zollverein will turn into a place for current communication design at the highest level. The visitors of the exhibitions may look forward to the latest, innovative works in the field of communication design.

For years, the design studio 601bisang from the South Korean capital Seoul has built up a reputation with their young, broad-minded designs. In 2012, it was bestowed the honorary title “red dot: agency of the year” for their continuously high design achievements. In their exhibition, they give insights into their know-how and present what is state-of-the-art in the creative scene. Federal Minister of Economics and Technology and Vice Chancellor of Germany, Dr. Philipp Rösler, as well as other guests of honour were impressed by the achievements of the agency of the year 2012.

The works of 601bisang reflect a deep philosophical approach. Existential topics such as “nature” and “harmony” as well as the own cultural heritage are brought into accordance with latest graphic design. “We not only design for clients – we become clients for ourselves to design what we want” – this quote describes the self-conception of the young and dynamic design studio. The title of the exhibition “Digilog 601: Harmony thru Design“ stands for the fusion of “digital” and “analog” – opposing phenomena that merge in an exciting symbiosis. The works of 601bisang are between the poles of emotion and rationality and thereby reflect the concept of harmony. A special eye catcher of the exhibition is the exceptional typography that consists of male and female frogs: it symbolises the constructive process of creation.
