Successful charity auction at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen: 9,472 euro for Friedensdorf International Oberhausen (Peace Village International)

On Sunday, 4 December 2016, well-shaped objects went under the hammer in the Red Dot Design Museum, because it organised its traditional charity auction. Already since 2011, international design products are sold by auction for the good cause, many of them at a starting price of 1 euro. More than 130 guests from the region participated in the auction which was booked out already one week prior to the event. More

Successful exhibition opening: “Under the Sign of the Circle” presents Red Dot awarded innovations from Japan

On Thursday, 24 November 2016, a new exhibition opened at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany: “Under the Sign of the Circle: Red Dot awarded Innovations from Japan”. The collection, comprised of around 100 designs from Japanese designers and manufacturers, will be on show until 19 March 2017. Drafts from various fields of life are on show – from furniture to telecommunication to posters. More

“Under the Sign of the Circle”: Red Dot Design Museum presents exhibition on innovations from Japan

“Under the Sign of the Circle”: This is the title of the exhibition to be presented in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany from 25 November 2016 to 19 March 2017 on Red Dot awarded design innovations from Japan. From living, telecommunications and media to packaging design and posters – around 100 exhibits from Japanese designers and manufacturers will be on show. The focus is on technological innovations, for which Japan is very well known. More

Until 30 October 2016, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany presents the exhibition “Making a Difference / A Difference in Making”. The collection brings together pioneering 3D-printed works of art, design, engineering and science. The exhibition was curated by Marta Malé-Alemany, architect and recognized researcher in the field of digital fabrication technologies, and produced by Materialise, a 3D printing company based in Belgium. Successful exhibition opening: Red Dot winners demonstrate “La valeur du design” in France

On Wednesday, 14 September 2016, a new Red Dot exhibition opened in France. During a reception at the Cité du Design in St. Etienne, “La valeur du design” (“The value of design”) was on show for the first time. Until 8 January 2017, Red Dot awarded products from France and around the world inform visitors about the merits and value of good design. They demonstrate that the term “design” goes way beyond the surface. More
