Prof. Dr. Peter Zec in Berlin: Red Dot Founder to guide guests through “Best of the Best” exhibition
Under the motto “Icons of brand design”, Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot, will give a guided tour of the exhibition “Best Communication Design - Red Dot Winners Selection 2014” on 16 December 2014 at 6.30 p.m. This is the first time that the design expert will give personal insights into the exclusive studio exhibition in the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin. The aim is to present the newest approaches from the fields of advertising and marketing using outstanding projects from this year’s competition.
After the success of last year, the works will once again be exhibited in the creative metropolis for a longer period. All works awarded the Red Dot: Best of the Best will be exhibited at the Museum für Kommunikation in Berlin until 18 January 2015. The museum will also show the best projects in the year 2014 awarded with the Red Dot: Grand Prix, the top prize in the competition. From online communication to game design and social media, the exhibition will show the latest trends, marketing tools and communication strategies that have won the Red Dot, the seal of quality in the design industry.
The exclusive tour will not only introduce those interested in design to current works and approaches, but will also familiarise them with the world of Red Dot and the opportunities offered by taking part in the competition. Berlin as a creative location plays a special role in this: “We are delighted that the winners of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design will be presented here for the second time. Our aim is to reinforce the permanent presence of Red Dot in Germany’s capital city. As part of this, the collaboration with the Museum für Kommunikation is particularly close to my heart. What more fitting place could one imagine as a space for presenting the world’s best communication projects? Berlin is the place to be in the design scene – creative, international and always in tune with the Zeitgeist. And that is also what Red Dot stands for”, says Prof. Dr. Peter Zec.
The competition results for the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2014 speak for themselves: Of the total 101 projects presented, 13 works emerged as the best in their category to win the Red Dot: Grand Prix, the top individual award in the competition. One example is BBDO Germany, which won the award for “The Ant Rally” fundraising campaign. The agency Solidere also won a Red Dot: Grand Prix for the unusually designed annual report “The Chronicle”, which documents the history and development of the city of Beirut over more than 20 years. This year’s Red Dot: Junior Prize was won by up-and-coming German designer Konrad Rappaport for his work “Next Generation Scientific Poster”: an interactive poster that presents scientific topics in an attractive manner that makes them much easier to understand.
