Atelier Mendini
Alessandro Mendini, born in Milan in 1931, graduated in architecture in 1959. In the 1970s and 1980s he was editor in chief of the Italian design and architecture magazines Casabella, Modo and Domus. Design concepts as the “Re-Design” and the “Banal Design” are closely connected with his name. He works as a design consultant for several companies, developing strategies for design and market identities. Alessandro Mendini’s works can be found in museums and private collections all over the world. In his work for Atelier Mendini, which he founded in 1989 with his brother Francesco Mendini, he returns to concentrating on architectural projects.
