Alberto Meda

Alberto Meda got his Master’s degree in mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 1969. In 1973, he became technical manager of Kartell. In 1979, he started as a freelance industrial designer working for various companies and he is now widely appreciated as a designer in his own right, integrating a respect for technical requirements with a poetic dimension. After four decades of defining some iconic contemporary furniture and lighting, Alberto Meda is now focusing on design that can make a difference on a global scale. He lectures at the Domus Academy, the Politecnico di Milano, the Designlabor in Bremerhaven and at the IUAV in Venice. Several workshops and seminars have brought him to Osaka, Tokyo, Stockholm, London, St. Louis, Chicago and Miami. He works and lives in Milan.
