Poggenpohl Möbelwerke GmbH
In its 114 years of history, Poggenpohl has grown from a cabinet-maker and furniture shop to the world’s most famous kitchen brand. The motto of the founder, Friedemir Poggenpohl, “our goal is to improve the kitchen,” still remains the most important design maxim today. It interprets the kitchen as a living environment and regards the home as an expression of personality. Poggenpohl represents pioneering achievements, such as the “reform kitchen” from 1928 and the first mass-produced unit kitchen “form 1000” from 1950, as well as visionary concepts, such as “experiment 70” by Luigi Colani, whose integration of design, architecture, technology and new media has turned these concepts into living reality. Through the recent works of designers such as Jorge Pensi, Poggenpohl’s innovative ideas have found contemporary expression.
