Corporate Design Center

Based on its design philosophy “Balance of Reason and Feeling”, Samsung Electronics Corporate Design Center is creating distinguished products, but also new experiences and values. Since 1996, following our CEO’s conviction of design as the final edge in corporate management in the 21st century, the Corporate Design Center has implemented a design-driven management policy to build Samsung’s own design identity, elevate product quality to premium level and instil an emotional quality into products. Six global design centres have been established in Europe, Asia and America to identify users’ lifestyles, behaviour and needs in cooperation with the headquarters in Seoul, Korea. Also, we started a unique policy called “Design Membership” in 1993 to nurture prospective designers with outstanding potentials. This policy was awarded the Jury’s Special Prize in the Japan Good Design Award 2006 as an innovative cultivation programme.
