Tools Design was founded in 1989 by Claus Jensen and Henrik Holbæk. Henrik Holbæk, born in 1960, graduated in 1990 from The Royal Academy of Arts, Dept. of Industrial Design, Copenhagen. Claus Jensen, born in 1966, graduated in 1992 from The Danish Design School, Copenhagen. Today, the studio is located in the old industrial area in north-west of Copenhagen. The products of Tools Design are often characterised by a simple yet innovative approach. Their portfolio ranges from electronics and medical equipment to household products. The design philosophy of Tools Design is to put “something extra” into the products. The strength of the studio is managing product design and communication to create lifestyle design. With more than 100 international design awards Tools Design ranks amongst Denmark’s most awarded design studios. The studio has represented Danish design in several international exhibitions.
