Blå Station was established in 1986 by Börge Lindau, the well-known Swedish designer, together with his son Johan and his oldest daughter Mimi. In 1994, Börge Lindau handed over the company management to his children, Johan and Mimi. Since the beginning, Blå Station has dedicated itself to working on designs that go beyond traditional approaches, and has focused on environmentally sound solutions. Under the leadership of Johan Lindau, the Blå Station design philosophy has been extended to embrace design from an innovative perspective. As the company’s design manager, Johan Lindau works closely together with freelance designers. He believes in the cooperative design process with an almost religious conviction, starting each new project from scratch in order to allow the greatest possible freedom in which to develop fresh ideas.
