Ulrich Skrypalle

Ulrich Skrypalle, born in 1947, studied economics engineering and industrial design in Munich. He worked as an interior designer for Schulz GmbH, Munich, and was president of a furniture showroom in the same city for three years. In 1979, he became a designer for Siemens Design, Munich, and joined Siemens Nixdorf in 1980 as a designer for computer and industrial goods. In 1990, Ulrich Skrypalle became senior designer for telecommunications products and design development of the Siemens telephone family for the USA and, in 1997, chief designer for information and communications products at Siemens AG. Since 2003 he has been executive board member of designafairs GmbH. Ulrich Skrypalle lectured at the Art Center College of Design Europe in Vevey/Switzerland. He sits on international juries at design awards such as the iF design award, the Citrix future award and the red dot design award.
