Jirí Spanihel

DESCENT s.r.o.

Jirí Spanihel studied under Prof. Zdenek Kovár at the University of Engineering Design in Prague. After graduating, he was chief body designer for the auto manufacturer TATRA in Koprivnice. In 1991, he established his own design studio, DESCENT s.r.o., in Koprivnice. Jirí Spanihel has collaborated on the development of industrial products with a wide variety of leading international companies, such as BORCAD CZ s.r.o., Linet s.r.o., PRODECO a.s., Vagónka a.s., CZ Strakonice a.s., TATRA a.s. and Polysan s.r.o. Jirí Spanihel is one of the most prominent designers in the Czech Republic and has received a number of prestigious design awards. His projects focus on consumer comfort and a functional design that matches the uniqueness of the products. He strengthens the dynamic development of his clients’ firms and broadens the worldwide distribution of their products.
