Shigeo Fukuda
Born in Tokyo in 1932, Shigeo Fukuda graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1956. He has created optical illusion art (both two-dimensional and three-dimensional) in all manner of categories, impossible objects, ambiguous sculptures, distorted projections, anamorphic art, etc. and he is the author of three Japanese books on optical illusions. Shigeo Fukuda holds an esteemed position in the world of international graphic design and is known the world over for his whimsical visual creations. In addition to graphic design, Fukuda has also worked in the fields of sculpture, theatre set design and mural painting. He is the director of JAGDA, a committee member of the ADC Tokyo and a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), and he is a Royal Designer for Industry (RDI).
