Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016 – 50 free registration spaces on 9 December for those starting out on their career

Young designers from all around the world should already be preparing themselves for 9 December 2015. On Young Professionals Application Day, new talents will have the opportunity to apply with their product for free participation in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016. The internationally renowned design competition offers 50 up-and-coming talents the chance to prove their competency and to put themselves on the same platform as the stars and big brands.

“With Young Professionals Application Day, we are supporting today’s talented designers, who may soon be shaping the design world of tomorrow. Designer interest is strong every year, and the potential is huge: In the last competition year alone, nearly 20% of these participants received an award”, says Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award.

In addition to taking part in the competition for free, the up-and-coming talents will be provided with free, comprehensive measures if they win an award. The sought-after “Winners’ Benefits” include use of the Red Dot label for the award-winning product as well as exhibition of the product in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, Germany, and in the Online Presentation. Furthermore, the winners are published in the Red Dot Design Yearbook, the standard work for contemporary design, and are made accessible internationally for tens of thousands of design fans through the Red Dot on Tour programme.

With its competent jury, the Red Dot Award: Product Design has been determining the best products of the year since 1955. Designers and manufacturers from all over the globe hope for a distinction with the sought-after “Red Dot”. The winners are traditionally honoured during the Red Dot Gala in Essen, Germany – the next one will take place on 4 July 2016. In 2015, 4,928 products from 56 countries were entered in the competition.
