Design plays increasingly important role in advertising

The results of the red dot award: communication design 2008 have been finalised. In the competition, which is one of the most important and largest design competitions worldwide, the international jury of experts had to sift and assess a deluge of in total roughly 6,000 submitted works from 39 countries.

Conspicuously inconspicuous is the motto in the category Corporate Design. The designers manage to capture the gist of a brand in subtle yet concise ways and to convey the contents creatively and originally. The company philosophy is communicated on different levels; identification with the brand is omnipresent.

The 2006/2007 red dot communication design yearbook, edited by design expert Professor Dr. Peter Zec, has been selected by the Portuguese Serralves Foundation for the “Gateways” exhibition in Porto, Portugal. “Gateways” is an international exhibition of contemporary book covers, for which books from the four corners of the globe can be submitted.

Last Thursday marked the fourth time that Messe Düsseldorf awarded the "caravaning design award: innovations for new mobility". 53 exhibitors submitted a total of 88 products for the competition, organised by red dot projects, on the occasion of the CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF (29 August through 7 September 2008). The jury found 18 of these to be worthy of a prize, and four products were rated “caravaning design award: best practice”.
