Trend: The Return of the '80s

In today's society, many different values have established themselves. However, if values and goals can co-exist in an equal way, all claiming to be absolute, an unambiguous orientation is absent.

Such an orientation is offered by the stylistic return to past decades, when society still agreed about unambiguous values. After the '50s as the decade of joyful and exhilarating departure, the '70s celebrated their rediscovery with the specific bright colorfulness and the optimistic choice of plastic materials. It is characteristic that retro phases come increasingly shorter cycles. Now, the '80s is the current decade of reference.

The color spectrum of the '80s is defined by the black-and-white contrast; colorfulness has become part of the past. Added are only green or red color accentuations here and there. The strict, cool appearance is structured in clear geometric forms through line, right angles, diagonals and circles. Highly polished surfaces can be found with plastics, metal and even natural materials like leather. The tension between natural and artificial is also part of the play of the colors, forms and materials in the '80s revival.
