Design trends in technology and lifestyle from Taiwan

From the beginning of October to the end of November 2014, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen presents “Formosa Forms – Design trends in technology and lifestyle from Taiwan”. Sculptural lighting, powerful smartphones and notebooks, or elaborate bicycles illustrate in an aesthetic way that Taiwan is one of the leading countries in design.

Exhibition: Light & Shape

Touching and testing most of the exhibits is explicitly allowed, since outstanding design quality becomes apparent only in use.

Event: Every product tells a story

Good products do not appear from nowhere. In the beginning, there always is an idea which turns into the final product after a long development process and countless drafts. But where do these ideas come from and how do designers get their motivation? The exhibition “Every Product Tells a Story”, which can be visited from 28 November 2014 until 31 May 2015 in the Hong Kong Design Institute, explores this question in detail.
