The Red Dot Award is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, a particularly star-studded jury was engaged to judge the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015. In an evaluation process spanning several days, the team of experts awarded the best products of 2015.

Regular phase has startet!
The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2015 is in full swing: On 15 April, the Regular phase has started which is going until 21 May. The Latercomer registration is the last possibility to register in the competition. It ends on 19 June.
„Enduring, not ultimate form“
Exhibition on the development “from ‘Industrieform’ to Red Dot”
From 29 June - 23 August 2015, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen and the Ruhr Museum will present the eight-weeks anniversary exhibition „Enduring, not ultimate form“. It will inform visitors about “60 years of design history in Essen. The President of the German Bundestag, Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert, is the patron.

Until 4 March 2013, the exhibition “German Design Standards - From Bauhaus to Globalisation” narrates the success story of German design and describes it by numerous exhibits. In cooperation with the Neue Sammlung - The International Design Museum Munich, the exhibition in Hong Kong presents selected winning works of the red dot design award, but also iconic products which have become “German Design Standards”. In the fifth part of this series, further masters of German design will be presented.

At the general meeting of the Verband Deutscher Industrie Designer (Council of German Industrial Designers) Stefan Eckstein has been elected new president. He accepts the office of Susanne Lengyel. Being the founder of Eckstein Design, Stefan Eckstein has a lot of expertise in the field of industrial design which he regularly proves in international competitions.

Italian architect and product designer Claudio Salocchi passed away at the age of 78. Salocchi has been a juror at the "red dot award: product design" in 2004 and 2006 and incorporated his expertise into the fields of jewellery, fashion, accessories, textile design and new materials.
