Cultural highlights in event programme of the Red Dot Gala

Only a few weeks left until the festive finale of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2014. On 7 July, the best products of the year will be honoured in the Aalto-Theater Essen in Germany. Medal by designer and Red Dot juror Naoto Fukasawa impresses the Tang Prize Foundation

Early 2014, the Tang Prize Foundation initiated a competition of a special kind in collaboration with the Taiwan Design Center: 25 international design organisations were invited to nominate jewellery designers who should design the Tang Prize medal and thus give a distinctive profile to the new award, which is set to become the Asian Nobel Prize. The committee of the International Invitational Tang Prize Medal Design Competition was formed by design experts from all over the world – including Professor Dr Peter Zec, Founder and CEO of Red Dot, as well as the Red Dot jurors Jennifer Tsai and Rob Vermeulen. Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2014 - Call for entries ends on 21 May

It is just hours to go before the participation phase for this year’s Red Dot Award: Design Concept ends. In 2013 alone, companies, design studios, universities and designers alike from 57 countries submitted 4,394 entries of their best innovative ideas – demonstrating the international significance of the competition. Red Dot Award: Design Concept - Jury Interview: Design: A Korean perspective

Professor Dr Ken Nah has been a part of the Red Dot Award: Design Concept jury since 2009. He is a Professor of Design Management and is also the Director of the Human and Experience Research (HER) Lab at the International Design School for Advanced Studies (IDAS) in South Korea.
