Trend: Maximization

From desk lamp to standing lamp: some lamps were scaled up and now take on new dimensions. During the Milan Furniture Fair, Professor Dr. Peter Zec and Elmar Schüller had already noticed this trend, which was confirmed as one of the trends 2004 in Frankfurt.

The large-scale standing lamps usually keep their original look, which also allows lampshades to take on a gigantic scale. Philippe Starck, for example, was inspired by table lamps a while ago and designed the outdoor lamp "Out Superarchimoon" for Flos; it seems to come right off the desk – but now it's big enough to light up an entire garden. In Frankfurt, he presented new lampshades for this lamp.
