Forms in Milan

The trend is naturalness and artificiality. An endless number of variations is possible within this trend. The spectrum extends from "neither-nor" to "everything."

The trend is obvious in the formal language. Honeycombs, for example, serve as models for shelves and partitions. Bionic structures, like in cellular structures, on an over-dimensioned scale become a design corpus. Chairs, armchairs and sofas merge into a new type of artificial living landscape through organic lines.

This trend, above all, lives from the new qualities that have become possible through tremendous progress in plastic materials and production technologies. One consequence is that the organic design in general is experiencing a clear renaissance. There's hardly a famous designer who hasn't picked up this tradition of modernism and, with fresh impulses, provided it with a contemporary update.
