Trends and Impressions from the Milan Furniture Fair
red dot online presents current forms, colours and materials
The world looks to Italy every time the "Salone Internazionale del Mobile," the leading showcase of contemporary furniture design in the world, takes place.
2,160 companies gathered from April 9-14 during the 42nd Milan Furniture Fair. In addition, more than 270 showrooms were distributed throughout the city, presenting new products and exhibitions. Visitors can no longer digest this flood of products and impressions.
Professor Dr. Peter Zec and Elmar Schüller therefore filtered out the most important innovations for you and put together this trend report. Their trend view this year is summarised as naturalness and artificiality.
These two opposite poles mark the spectrum within which the outstanding innovations moved. Join us for an overview of the various trends in forms, colours and materials on the following pages.
