Exhibition "Flanders goes international"

The VIZO Design Department organizes every year 6 exhibitions which focus on contemporary design in Flanders in the VIZO Gallery (near the Sint-Michiels cathedral). The exhibition "Flanders goes international" (from 10 September until 31 October) is organized for the second time and integrated in the circuit of the Designers Week-End (10-12 September 2004).

The exhibition shows eight designers with their most recent products. Since a couple of years, a group of Flemish designers which is constantly growing, has made contacts with important national and international design companies in order to take an existing design in their collection or to develop a new product that they can produce and commercialize.

Fairs like Interieur (Courtrai), furniture fair Milan and also Cologne have certainly contributed. It occurs more and more that designers, mostly through financial support of VIZO, find their way to these fairs.

During the exhibition VIZO will focus on this success. Five Belgian companies with an international reputation are presented: Dirk Wynants for Extremis, Bram Boo for Feld, Peter Van Riet for Juventa, Matilde Alessandra, Hans De Pelsmacker, Jos Devriendt and Maarten Van Severen for Light, and Charles Kaisin for Vange.

VIZO Gallery, Kanselarijstraat 19, 1000 Brussels.

Open from Tuesday to Friday from 11 AM until 6 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 1 until 5 PM.
