The jury session of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2015 is finished. During three intense days, numerous works from all over the world were examined and evaluated by the 27-headed jury. Now it is time to wait and look forward to Berlin.

During the International Year of Light, technologies are focused which reduce the global emissions of greenhouse gases: for example, through the use of light-emitting diodes - LEDs. How different LEDs are already used in current designs, is shown by selected lights.

From “Industrieform” to Red Dot (1954 - 1979)

Still until 23 August 2015, the Red Dot Design Museum and the Ruhr Museum in Essen, Germany, are presenting the exhibition “Enduring, not ultimate form”. In the same way that design has constantly changed and developed further, so too has today’s Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen stayed close to the pulse of time in the past sixty years.

In this years’ product competition, 81 products out of 4,928 submissions were distinguished with the highest single award "Red Dot: Best of the Best". Red Dot talked to some people behind the winning products. Selected statements on their understanding of design quality are available here.

The title of the exhibition describes design as a permanent task to optimise the environment created by us. This becomes especially apparent when looking at the Braun 300 special DL 3.
