The Product Design competition has existed since 1954. Its award, the Red Dot, is an internationally recognised quality seal. The best products receive the Red Dot: Best of the Best award.

“World’s Best Communication Design and Highlights from NRW”: successful exhibition opening

On the evening of 5 April 2017, the opening of the exhibition “World’s Best Communication Design and Highlights from NRW” took place in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany. It presents the latest trends, strategies and projects of the regional and international communication design scene. The Red Dot jury has made its decision: These are the best products of the year

Manufacturers and designers from 54 countries entered their current product innovations in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017. 39 experts from all over the world convened in Essen to assess each individual object live and in situ in a process spanning several days. Only designs that won over the jury with their high design quality were awarded the sought-after Red Dot. The distinctive winners’ label will decorate the best products of the year with immediate effect. In the areas of bathrooms and personal care, consumer electronics, kitchen appliances and furniture, design as a distinctive feature is playing an ever-increasing role. Sustainability and new technologies are also major developments. More

Red Dot Design-Ranking 2016 – outstanding performances by institutions

The Red Dot Design Ranking for design concepts tracks and measures the success of an organisation in producing exciting new design concepts over a period of time. In 2016, the Red Dot Award: Design Concept received 4,698 entries from 60 countries. The Red Dot jury of 21 international design experts awarded five institutions with the Red Dot: Best of the Best, in recognition of the outstanding effort and quality designs. More

Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017 – “Early Bird” registration ends on 2 April

The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017 is well underway. It offers agencies, designers and companies from all over the world a platform for evaluating their design and creative achievements. They can submit their works and projects to the international competition within the “Early Bird” registration phase until 2 April and benefit from the reduced registration fee of the first submission period. One day later, the “Regular” registration phase starts, which runs until 14 May. The final deadline for “Latecomer” is 9 June 2017. More
