The awards presentation of the red dot award: communication design 2006 -- international meeting of the creative industry

It was a worthy highlight and end of this year’s red dot award: communication design -- the festive awards ceremony on Friday 8 December 2006 in the Essen Philharmonic Concert Hall, which was attended by some 800 guests from eight nations to celebrate the winners of this year’s red dot award: communication design. The tension with regards to the honorary prizes for the best works of each category, however, kept mounting during the ceremony, because the winners were not announced until the very end of the awards presentation. The designer Andreas Störiko represented the Wilkhahn company on Wilkhahn’s Asia Pacific Tour 2006. After the start in Hong Kong on 24 July the tour went to Melbourne and Sydney and ended in Singapore on 4 August. When he stayed in Singapore the designer spoke with the red dot team about design, inspiration and economic success. More

Innovation versus imitation: Plagiarius exhibition in the red dot design museum

From 26 August to 17 December 2006, the red dot design museum presents plagiarisms and counterfeited products, which are exhibited together with their originals, in a small exhibition.
