Communications performances: Red Dot awards REWE Group, Daimler and STRICHPUNKT DESIGN

The best projects of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 have been chosen. Designers from 44 countries can be glad about the international distinction with the Red Dot label this year. They managed to convince the expert panel with innovative campaigns, impressive marketing concepts, the latest communication measures as well as a high design level and a maximum of creativity.

Red Dot distinction for the annual report of the REWE Group

One of this year’s winners is the REWE Group, awarded for its business report 2014 in the category "Annual Reports". The title of the project is "Our world in motion". It presents the development of the group by using the company’s key figures and a magazine part. Under the motto of "trends", the reader is guided through the company’s most driving and economically strongest business divisions through images, articles and multimedia content.

Nine awards for Daimler

The Daimler brands Mercedes-Benz and smart can even be glad about nine awards in this year’s competition. These include the new lifstyle configurator, awarded in three categories, and the the new exhibition appearance of Mercedes-Benz at the IFAT. Furthermore, the brand insert "Niemand muss Mercedes fahren" ("Nobody needs to drive a Mercedes"), a realisation of the German agency antoni, as well as the book "Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Pullman – Book of Inspiration" designed by SCHWARZ GRUPPE DESIGN were honoured. Smart received two "Red Dot: Best of the Best" awards for the campaign "Parkhäuser" ("Car parks") and another one for the TV spot "Shock".

STRICHPUNKT DESIGN demonstrates brand strength

The German agency STRICHPUNKT DESIGN, can even record 12 distinctions this year, among others, a Red Dot: Best of the Best in the category "Annual Reports" for the business report of the adidas Group "How we create the new". Also the corresponding magazine was honoured with a Red Dot in the category "Typography". Further projects, that were awarded with a Red Dot are "The Safety of Things" (Annual Report 2015 of DEKRA e.V.), "Enabled" (Annual Report 2014 of the ALSO Holding AG ), "Openminded" (Annual Report 2014/15 of the METRO GROUP), "Attentive" (Annual Report 2014/15 of TRUMPF), "Rethinking Efficiency" (Annual Report 2014 of the Schuler AG) as well as "More Value for Everyone" (Sustainability Report 2016 of the TAKKT AG). "DEUTSCH MAGAZINE 2015", "Papierfabrik Scheufelen – phoenolux Promo-Box 2016" and "Papierfabrik Scheufelen –Perfekt Kalender 2016" were awarded, too.

The competition’s best will be honoured at the Red Dot Gala in Berlin on 4 November 2016. On stage of the Konzerthaus Berlin the Red Dot: Best of the Best laureates will receive their desired trophies. Only at the evening of the award ceremony it is traditionally announced who will be awarded with the highest single distinction of the competition, the Red Dot: Grand Prix. And also the winner of the Red Dot: Junior Prize, yearly given to the most promising up-and-coming talent and endowed with a prize money of 10,000 Euro, is made public in front of an international audience.
