"Culture in the Bathroom" by Dornbracht

Insights and thoughts about the theme ‘ritual architecture in bathrooms’ were integrated into Dornbracht’s new product line entitled “Kultur im Bad – Culture in the Bathroom.”


The last edition of “Kultur im Bad” already had a special design. However, the dominant mood was reserved, white and calm. Now, the ritual is placed in the foreground and with it a celebration of materials and objects that appeal to all of the senses. The cover made of natural paper already accounts for this. The many inspirations and living impressions were gathered together and compiled in a sketchbook. Still, “Culture in the Bathroom” does not dwindle down to a random collection of ideas: three categories, so-called “living worlds,” structure the journey through ritual architecture and provide an orientation: “Eternity,” “Imagination” and “Transfer.”

The bathroom as a consciously tangible living environment, with the luxury of withdrawing and satisfying a need, which goes far beyond physical things like washing – Dornbracht emphasizes the development, which fills the rooms and objects with meaning in its new edition of “Kultur im Bad.” It leaves purely external beauty behind. “Matter gains in value through conscious acts on an idealistic level, and everyday things suddenly become meaningful,” says CEO Andreas Dornbracht.
