BFF Congress in Hamburg 2005: China – Photography, Art & Advertising Today
For the third time, the BFF Congress is addressing the pictorial and design production of a particular country. Following Japan and Italy, the focus in 2005 will be on China making the catchphrase in Hamburg from June 17th – 18th: The East is illuminated with China’s new world-class photographic arts.
China is on the path to becoming a world power, and not just economically; the up and coming superstars of photography, film, art and advertising have Chinese roots. The photo artist Wang Quingsong, whose monumental exhibitions can be seen in the world’s most prestigious museums, cameraman Prof. Zhao Fei, whose films “Raise The Red Lantern” and “The Emperor and the Assassin” are widely regarded as timeless masterpieces and who has long enjoyed success in Hollywood, Prof. Gao Jun, who views brand name products as living beings and heads the largest Chinese advertising agency – these are only three of many contributors profiled at the Congress of the BFF Bund Freischaffender Foto-Designer (Association of Freelance Photo Designers) in Hamburg.
Awaiting a total of 1,500-2,000 guests of lectures, pictorial presentations, award ceremonies, exhibitions and parties is a huge event for anyone interested in photography.
On the evening before the start of the congress, a club evening with pictures and discussions offers the opportunity to talk directly with contributors and other photographers.
