Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH
Wincor Nixdorf is one of the succeeding companies of the Nixdorf Computer AG. The company is specialised in IT solutions, products, and services to the retail and banking industries. With approximately 6000 employees, the company achieved sales of 1.58 thousand million euros in the financial year 2003/2004.
In 1990, Nixdorf Computer AG was taken over by the Siemens AG and integrated within the Siemens organisation. Over the decade, Nixdorf concentrated their business activities increasingly on the retail and banking industries, quickly gaining strength in this line of business. Finally, parting from the Siemens group in 1999, they made their independent appearance on the market, operating under the new name Wincor Nixdorf. Being listed on the stock exchange in May 2004 marks another cornerstone in the company's history.
The maxim "form follows function," ergonomics and safety, these are the long-established design principles that the four designers at Wincor Nixdorf have internalised. The company's systems and devices are, due to their balance in ergonomics, technology, economy, and aesthetics, considered best-in-class products.
