Great success: red dot exhibition in Belgium

The exhibition “red dot selection” red dot showed from 15 to 24 October 2010 in Belgium, was a resounding success. A huge number of enthusiastic visitors came to the exhibition, which red dot presented as part of the 22nd International Design Biennale "Interieur 2010" in Kortrijk. At the trade fair "Design at work", which took place parallel to the Design Biennale, the exhibition "red dot selection" not only showed well-known Belgium winners such as Samsonite, Berghoff Worldwide, Wever & Ducré, and Tupperware, but also the impressive achievements of the "red dot young professionals" - new talent from around the world, who managed to impress the jury of the red dot design award with their outstanding creativity. By drawing free registrations for the product design competition, red dot wanted to encourage new talents and thus strengthen the profession. The initiative was introduced in 2010 and will be continued in 2011. ‘red dot selection’ presented surprising creations from countries such as Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Israel and China, which immediately became winners in this year’s award. With this collaboration, Design at Work and red dot proved again that good design is of interest for both companies and consumers. More than ever consumers are looking for functional, intuitive and good-looking products, and companies are more successful in the market when they value and apply design as a business process.
