red dot award: communication design – application period ends soon, jury is ready and waiting!

By 17 June creative minds of communication design still have the chance to register and hand in their works for the renowned “red dot award: communication design 2011”. Today the latecomers’ phase for applications is on, which provides designers, agencies, design offices and clients of communication design works the opportunity to submit their creative achievements in this crucial phase and may be honoured with one of the much sought-after red dots afterwards.

As always, all works will be discussed and evaluated by the red dot jury, all of them renowned, international experts from the various fields of communication design. One of the jurors is Chris Lee, the founder and creative director of Asylum, a highly regarded creative company that comprises a design studio, a retail store, a workshop and a record label. Asylum is defined as an ideas company. Since its inception in 1999, the studio has been working on cross-disciplinary projects that include interactive design, product development, environmental and interior design, packaging, apparel design, branding, and graphic design. Its works received more than 60 international awards including The One Show and D&AD. Apart from his commercial work Chris Lee is also very active in the creative education in Asia. He gives guest lectures at universities and conferences throughout the world.

The application with posters, annual reports, video games, websites and further products of the communication industry will be possible by 17 June 2011, whereas several categories are available for the competitor’s registration. From corporate design and product campaigns to packaging design to typography – there are no limits set to the various fields of creativity.
