Competent, experienced, renowned: International experts award the Red Dot for outstanding communication design

The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2018 launched at the beginning of March. All those who wish to submit their work and themselves to the scrutiny of the Red Dot Jury have until 15 June 2018 to register for the design competition. In a process spanning several days, 24 experts, including three new jury members, will decide which entries will receive the Red Dot labels.

The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 have been chosen

This year, companies and designers from 59 countries entered more than 6,300 innovations in the Red Dot Award: Product Design. 69 entries – just 1.1% of all entries – received the top award in the competition, the Red Dot: Best of the Best. The “Red Dot”, which stands for good design quality, was awarded 1,684 times, while 45 objects won an Honourable Mention, which is given to a particularly well-executed aspect of design work.

On 27 October, the international creative scene convened in Berlin, Germany, to celebrate the laureates of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017. Established and upcoming designers as well as agency heads and company representatives from all over the world came together at the Red Dot Gala. The makers of the year’s best communication design works were honoured during the award ceremony in the Konzerthaus Berlin.

Companies, design studios, research institutions and designers from 58 countries entered their latest product concepts in the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2017 – a record of 4,724 entries. 20 experts from all over the world convened and assessed each idea in an adjudication process lasting several days, with the selected concepts finally being awarded in Singapore. Only concepts with the highest design quality won over the jury and were awarded the sought-after Red Dot.
