Competent, experienced, renowned: International experts award the Red Dot for outstanding communication design

The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2018 launched at the beginning of March. All those who wish to submit their work and themselves to the scrutiny of the Red Dot Jury have until 15 June 2018 to register for the design competition. In a process spanning several days, 24 experts, including three new jury members, will decide which entries will receive the Red Dot labels.

The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 have been chosen

This year, companies and designers from 59 countries entered more than 6,300 innovations in the Red Dot Award: Product Design. 69 entries – just 1.1% of all entries – received the top award in the competition, the Red Dot: Best of the Best. The “Red Dot”, which stands for good design quality, was awarded 1,684 times, while 45 objects won an Honourable Mention, which is given to a particularly well-executed aspect of design work.

“Homo Ex Data”: successful exhibition opening in Hong Kong

Until 27 May 2018, visitors to the HKDI Gallery can explore “Homo Ex Data – The Natural of the Artificial”. It showcases Red Dot awarded products and innovations which illustrate the impact and challenges of digitisation, and demonstrate exemplarily with which solutions designers face them. The exhibition was officially unveiled on Friday, 24 November 2017.


1,200 pages of inspiration: International Yearbook Communication Design 2017/2018 was published

On 14 November 2017, the International Yearbook Communication Design 2017/2018 was published in the Red Dot Edition. All works which readers can discover in the latest Red Dot yearbook were granted a prize by an international jury in the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2017.

On 21 November 2017, the Designers’ Night came to Taiwan once again after four years. For the first time, this event was held in a nightclub in Taipei – in the “OMNI Nightclub”, which was awarded in the interior design category with the Red Dot: Best of the Best in 2017.
