Competent, experienced, renowned: International experts award the Red Dot for outstanding communication design

The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2018 launched at the beginning of March. All those who wish to submit their work and themselves to the scrutiny of the Red Dot Jury have until 15 June 2018 to register for the design competition. In a process spanning several days, 24 experts, including three new jury members, will decide which entries will receive the Red Dot labels.

The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 have been chosen

This year, companies and designers from 59 countries entered more than 6,300 innovations in the Red Dot Award: Product Design. 69 entries – just 1.1% of all entries – received the top award in the competition, the Red Dot: Best of the Best. The “Red Dot”, which stands for good design quality, was awarded 1,684 times, while 45 objects won an Honourable Mention, which is given to a particularly well-executed aspect of design work.

Every year, only a few projects stand out in particular in the Red Dot Award: Communication Design. The jury awards them with the highest single distinction in the competition, the Red Dot: Grand Prix. In 2017, this prize was granted only five times, among others to Achtung! and Studio Kraftwerk from Amsterdam for the advertising campaign “Hovering Art Director”.

French designers regularly prove their excellent design quality in the Red Dot Award: Communication Design. In 2017, for example, the agency W&CIE convinced with two thoughtful and unusual approaches and Sylvain Borgarino with a commercial for Sisley Paris. The French agency BETC showed courage and creativity when they exchanged the famous crocodile logo of Lacoste.
