Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 – Fair adjudication of the products live and on site

Manufacturers and designers can enter their best products at the regular rate up until 16 January 2018. “Latecomers” still have until 9 February to register. In March 2018, the jury members will convene for an adjudication process spanning several days in order to test and assess the products.

What contribution does the factor of design make to a better quality of life? The answer to that question can be found in the latest red dot edition of the publication “Hall of Fame – Volume 2”. Publisher is Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, commissioned by Icsid, the global network of industrial design. One of the contributing writers is Carlos Hinrichsen, who has just succeeded Professor Dr. Zec as President of Icsid. In an interview with red dot online, Carlos Hinrichsen discussed the challenges of design development in Chile.

Flexibility is the answer to the quest for the Universal Home After one year of intense research work at Zollverein they have been established: The results of the “Universal Home” scholarship competition at Zollverein. In October 2006, ten young designers and architects from all over the world took up their annual scholarship at Zollverein to do research in cooperation with eleven companies on the future oriented issue “Universal Home”.

Professor Dr Zec, President of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) and initiator of the red dot design award, will be one of the internationally renowned professional design speakers at the “Creative Strategy” symposium, which will take place in Thailand on the 12th of October in the context of the design event “Creativities Unfold, Bangkok 2007-08" (10-14 October 2007), in the Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC).
