Competent, experienced, renowned: International experts award the Red Dot for outstanding communication design

The Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2018 launched at the beginning of March. All those who wish to submit their work and themselves to the scrutiny of the Red Dot Jury have until 15 June 2018 to register for the design competition. In a process spanning several days, 24 experts, including three new jury members, will decide which entries will receive the Red Dot labels.

The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018 have been chosen

This year, companies and designers from 59 countries entered more than 6,300 innovations in the Red Dot Award: Product Design. 69 entries – just 1.1% of all entries – received the top award in the competition, the Red Dot: Best of the Best. The “Red Dot”, which stands for good design quality, was awarded 1,684 times, while 45 objects won an Honourable Mention, which is given to a particularly well-executed aspect of design work.

Until 29 May, designers, agencies and companies from around the globe can submit their works during the regular registration period. In 2005, the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore was established at the Maxwell Road. On 19 October 2017, the Museum opened its doors at the present location at the Marina Bay. After some transformations, the iconic edifice now includes several galleries and showcases an exhibition of over 345 futuristic concepts awarded in the Red Dot Award: Design Concept.

On 27 October, the winners of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design were celebrated. Sarah Müller from the School of Design Ravensburg received the Red Dot: Junior Prize. She convinced the jury with her book “See Acoustics – Rhapsody in Blue”.
